We are entering into a strategic partnership with Infinite Devices to develop a holistic system solution for IoT communication that fully fulfils the requirements of the GDPR. With our proven CloudPlug, the hardware for cloud data acquisition for Industry 4.0 applications and IoT solutions, we are integrating the infinimesh IoT platform developed by Infinite Devices.
In contrast to current IoT platforms, infinimesh completely dispenses with US cloud providers and therefore fulfils all GDPR requirements. The combination of SOTEC IIoT Edge products and infinimesh lays the foundation for the use of IoT applications in security-relevant Industry 4.0 environments.
Florian Holz, Managing Director of SOTEC, summarises the benefits of the partnership:
„The collaboration with Infinite Devices complements our portfolio of previous partnerships with Google Cloud and Microsoft. This enables us to use the SOTEC CloudPlug Gateway to store the data collected from machines and processes in a German or customer-owned cloud, allowing us to offer our customers the optimum solution for their specific requirements. Together, we create a fully customised solution that not only meets the extremely high security requirements of complex data processing on the Internet, but also takes into account the desire for transparency and sovereignty over technology and data.“
Bruno Kramm sees the combination of advanced cloud hardware and the infinimesh platform as a pioneer for the widespread implementation of industrial IoT:
„The partnership between SOTEC and Infinite Devices brings both worlds together: High-end interfacing and connectivity from SOTEC defines the highest standards for future-proofing and stability in the networking of industrial automation processes, from retrofitting to Industry 4.0. With the infinimesh IoT platform, this results in maximum flexibility, reliability and, as recently established by the ECJ in the Privacy Shield judgement, 100% GDPR compliance. The partnership between SOTEC and Infinite Devices not only protects industrial companies from high penalties, but also from the classic lock-in of other IoT providers.“
